You find some words floating in a puddle:

When the dizzy way gathered and the sun sparks considered their presence in the morning maple grove by Ela's river. That was the day when all the ripple tombs walked.

"Hello Ambiplex", whispered Polimentas, "I've come to see you about the maple grove and its presence in my life."

"Oh indeed Polimentas, the maple grove has a presence in all our lives, it is the maple grove."

"But Ambiplex! Have I not wished to be among the maple grove more moons than can be counted on the back of a moon shoe? When will I know how to stand in that place and be as one with that which I should perceive there?"

"Dear may, that is a fine question, but one would be shrewd to think it not so! How would you who having been there, and on that occasion, known the defenceless presence of those things, and yet still be omnipotent in my conscience?"

Polimentas groaned, "Woe is me, I shall for the forceable future die, knowing that I am but a shadow in the maple grove. I, which shall not be known, but amount to the passing of night into a day. I hence am to be forsaken about, as each and every day there is, it will not be!"

Polimentas sat in the bungle river, watching the waters flow over her eyes, carrying fine fish and boats to the otherworlds on the waking noon of sundays edge. Over by those distant laps the hally day song was being sung, and Tamatay's gong was rolled into a room for safe keeping and eventual disposal.

Those were the last days in the gather want. The maple grove stood, broken in the evening sun, but golden and bright and beautiful as she always would be. Ambiplex watched all of these events, acting on none, deciding on none, and wishing for a day of unreason, where what could not could, and what cannot cannot can cannot. Among those unwinded contemplations, flowed Ela's river, down by the crystal gardens, and washing stones from the ripple tombs far away.
